FAQs

  • We always knew we wanted to celebrate our wedding somewhere special to us. After visiting the Riviera Maya in 2021, the place stole our hearts. With amazing food, the kindest people, beaches and jungles, it’s hard not to love.

Our memories of Playa del Carmen can sometimes feel contradictory. Between the beaches and the nightlife, you’re as relaxed as you are energized. But it’s that duality we love. And we hope to bring the same to not just our wedding but to our marriage — completely at ease, but ready to party!

  • The wedding will be Saturday January 13, with additional events the 12th and 14th.

We highly recommend building some time in to explore and relax on your own (See our Things To Do page for recommendations!) But since the flight is under 4 hours for most people, it can also be an easy weekend trip. We’ve planned it for MLK weekend, so if you have Monday off and are sticking around a little longer, we’ll be hosting a beach day on Sunday as well.

  • One of the best parts of the Riviera Maya is the climate — jungle meets beach. January is the coolest time of year, so expect highs of 80 in the day with low 70s at night.

  • We’ve only secured one room block with a discounted rate. That being said, it’s really important to us that people feel they have the freedom to plan their own vacation. None of our events will be held inside a resort so you aren’t locked into staying one specific place. Feel free to find somewhere else that fits your budget and vibe!

  • For the Welcome Party, dress code is dressy casual.

Dress code for the wedding is tropical formal. Suits, sport coats, long dresses etc. but in a warm weather material you’ll be comfortable in! Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be in the sand, so please wear shoes you feel comfortable walking on it in.

  • You’ve got a couple months, download Duolingo and get going.

Just kidding, you’ll be completely fine speaking English there. And when in doubt we have Ryan Quinn to translate for us.

  • Yes. Yes you do. And the passport office is a little backed up so we recommend you get on that as soon as possible.
